We Believe

...In being relevant for today’s culture while holding to the timeless truth of Scripture.

...God loves us unconditionally and continues to invite us to relationship through Jesus.

...That Jesus is God’s one and only Son and the only way to salvation.

...That Holy Spirit is still active convicting us of sin and leading us to God's grace.

...The Bible is God’s word, without error in truth, given to help us grow in relationship and live by faith.

...Effective life change begins when we follow Jesus wholly and completely.

...The gifts of the Spirit are still offered in the church.

Scripture — We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is our final authority for faith and practice, as established in 2 Timothy 3:16–17. Because of this, we study Scripture to grow in faith and to better understand God’s character, His purposes, and His work in the world.

God — We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in deity, power, and glory. We believe that God is infinite in love, perfect in judgment, and unchanging in righteousness and mercy. We affirm and uphold the Apostles’ Creed as a faithful and historic summary of these biblical truths.

Sin and God’s Grace — We believe humanity was created to live in perfect, covenant relationship with God. Through the disobedience of humanity, sin entered the world, separating humanity from God and that relationship was broken—and continues to be fractured as people turn away from Him. Yet God, in His mercy, offers restoring grace through Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the cross on our behalf restores repentant believers to a reconciled relationship with Himself. This grace is a unmerited gift of God, received by faith, and is the foundation of our hope, salvation, and a new life in Christ.

Salvation — We believe salvation is by grace alone, given when we turn from sin and place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through this repentance and faith, the Holy Spirit enters our lives, reshaping us from within and gives us a new nature in Christ. Our good works do not save us; rather, naturally flow from a life changed by the Spirit.

Church — We believe that the Church, the community of all believers, is the body and bride of Christ, called to embody and extend His life and ministry in the world today.

Human Sexuality and Marriage — We believe that God created humanity in His image, forming two genders—male and female—as described in Genesis 1:27, and that these are given by God at birth and constitute His good and intentional design for human identity and embodiment. We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant established by God in Genesis 2:24, exclusively between one adult man and one adult woman. We believe that any sexual expression outside this design—including behaviors that depart from God’s created intent for male and female—is contrary to Scripture and God’s good purposes for human flourishing.

Sacraments — We affirm two sacraments: baptism, an outward profession of faith symbolizing our union with Christ in His death to sin and resurrection to new life; and communion, helps us remember and celebrate Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross.
